Permissions index

You can grant users access to different features in the portal using permissions. You can also create roles, which are predefined sets of permissions, making it easy to assign the same permissions to multiple users.

These permissions include:

Admin

  • Manage users
    • Allows users to invite new users and edit existing user permissions. (This should only be given to users you're comfortable allowing access to all your data, since they are able to edit their own permissions to grant themselves access to any data.)
  • Manage roles
    • Allows a user to create and edit existing roles.
  • Manage integrations
    • Allows a user to access the integrations page. Best given to users who need to set up an integration for their Thematic data.
  • Create datasets
    • Allows a user to add a new dataset from the 'Manage data' page.
  • Create dashboards
    • Allows a user to create a new dashboard from the 'Dashboards' page.
  • Access usage metrics
    • Allows a user to access Billing and Usage metrics from the `View plan usage` page.

Dashboards

  • Per-dashboard permissions
    • Users can be granted the same permissions across all dashboards, or you can customize permissions per-dashboard.
    • Note: if you grant the same permissions across all dashboards, any dashboards added in the future will automatically inherit the same permissions. However if you grant permissions for individual dashboards, any dashboards added in the future will not have any access granted by default.
  • View
    • Allows a user to view a dashboard.
  • Manage
    • Allows a user to create, name and edit dashboards from the 'Dashboards' page.
  • Manage digests
    • Allows a user to set up and customize emailed digests from the dashboard. These can be set up to be sent on a recurring basis with new data.

Datasets

  • Per-dataset permissions
    • Users can be granted the same permissions across all datasets, or you can customize permissions per-dataset.
    • Users can be given permission for all datasets or individual permissions per dataset. Datasets can also have a variety of views that you can customize access to. (E.g. One dataset may have two views, one for each question)
    • Note: if you grant the same permissions across all datasets, any datasets or views added in the future will automatically inherit the same permissions. However if you grant permissions for individual datasets, any datasets or views added in the future will not have any access granted by default.
  • Analysis
    • Allows a user to see the analysis tools for a dataset or one of its views.
  • Answers
    • Allows a user to see the Answers tools for a dataset or one of its views.
  • Download
  • Manage
    • Allows a user to create, name and edit datasets from the 'Manage data' page.
  • Manage themes
    •  Allows a user to edit the themes for a dataset. (Note: Editing themes can make previous analysis outdated, so theme changes are best coordinated with users in your organization.)
  • Upload data
