Thematic MCP: Analysis feature group

The Analysis feature group lets an AI assistant explore your feedback through the Thematic MCP Server: themes, scores, comments and trends. Once connected, you can ask questions like "What are the top themes in our NPS survey?" or "Compare this quarter to last quarter" and the assistant will query Thematic on your behalf.

Analysis is read-only. It analyzes your data but never changes it.

Turning Analysis on

Analysis is available whenever your organization allows MCP access, which it does by default. An administrator can turn MCP access off for the whole organization under Manage workspace > MCP access. See Thematic MCP Server for how organization and personal settings work together.

Narrowing results

Most Analysis tools can be narrowed to the part of your feedback you care about. Ask in plain language and the assistant applies these for you:

  • Date range, such as "last quarter" or "since March"
  • Filters on your data, such as Region or Plan
  • Text search for comments containing a word or phrase
  • Sentiment: positive, neutral or negative
  • Category: issues, requests or questions
  • Themes, to look only at comments tagged with particular themes
  • Score, such as NPS, CSAT or Revenue at Risk

You don't need to call these directly. Ask for what you want in conversation and the assistant will choose the right tools. The list is here so you know what is possible.
