Managing your lenses

In your profile drop-down there's a new "Manage lenses" option. That takes you to the page where you can create new lenses or edit your current ones.

Creating a lens

This has a few steps, then Thematic will process the data and create a new set of themes

1 Lens Details

• Lens name: This is how the Lens will appear in your navigation drop-down. Can be edited at any time
• Description: Thematic uses this to guide the initial theme generation, so be specific about what you want the Lens to focus on. Themes can be edited and copied and pasted between Lenses and existing datasets.

2 Select Datasets

Choose which datasets and text columns the Lens should analyze.

• This list can be edited in the future
• For datasets with multiple comment columns you can pick one or several
• Thematic can combine traditional surveys and conversational datasets together

3 Review & confirm

A final check before you submit. Don't worry about getting it perfect on the first go - you can add or remove datasets and comment columns after the Lens is created.

Once confirmed, Thematic will generate a unified set of themes across your data. This typically takes a few hours, and the Lens will appear in your navigation once it's ready.
